Help!
I work in a corporate Customer Service role. As a result, a lot of my time is spent talking to call centres, tech support and customer service departments of other companies.
I have picked up a horrible saying but I can't think of a suitable catchy phrase to take it's place and now I am fearful that I will be stuck with it forever ...
... ok, deep breath ...
"Bear with me."
Urgh!!

Hang on a minute please?
Yeah, fine for when I'm talking to suppliers and call centres, but not so great for when I'm talking to clients.
"Can you Hold a moment Please?" - means, 'You just called while I was half way chewing my sandwich'
"You have phone the wrong number sir, I'll put you through to the correct department" - No Idea what they are on about, forward them to a constantly ringing phone...
Ahhh, indeed - it's quite often a mouthful of biscuit for me :o)
Or - my system has just crashed but I don't want to say that cos I work in the IT industry!

My personal favourite, which I use all the time is
"Please hold caller".
Makes me smile!
